Resident guidelines

House Rules

These guidelines exist to protect everyone in our community. By choosing Diamond Sober Living, you agree to uphold these standards — for yourself and for your neighbors on this journey.

At Diamond Sober Living, our house rules are built on one foundation: mutual respect. A safe, sober environment only works when every resident commits to the same standards. Please read these rules carefully and reach out to staff with any questions.

Sobriety & Substance Use

  • Zero tolerance for alcohol, illegal drugs, or any mood-altering substances on the premises or in your system.
  • Prescription medications must be disclosed to staff and stored securely. Self-medicating with unprescribed substances is prohibited.
  • Any resident suspected of substance use may be required to submit to a drug/alcohol test immediately.
  • Relapse will result in immediate discharge to protect the safety of all residents.

Curfew & Attendance

  • Curfew is 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
  • All residents must attend a minimum of three (3) recovery meetings per week and provide verification.
  • Mandatory house meetings are held weekly. Attendance is required unless prior approval is granted by staff.
  • Overnight passes must be requested and approved by staff at least 24 hours in advance.

Respect & Community

  • Treat all residents, staff, and guests with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Violence, threats, intimidation, or harassment of any kind will result in immediate discharge.
  • Romantic or sexual relationships between residents are not permitted.
  • Visitors must be approved by staff and are only permitted during designated visiting hours.

Chores & Shared Spaces

  • Each resident is responsible for keeping their personal space clean and organized.
  • Chores are assigned on a rotating schedule. Completion is required by the designated time.
  • Common areas (kitchen, bathrooms, living room) must be cleaned after each use.
  • Food is to be stored in designated areas only. Label your items and respect others' belongings.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Program fees are due on the 1st of each month. Late payments must be communicated to staff in advance.
  • Residents are expected to be actively working, seeking employment, or enrolled in a treatment/education program.
  • Theft of any kind — from residents, staff, or the house — will result in immediate discharge and may be reported to authorities.

Technology & Privacy

  • Personal devices are permitted but must not interfere with recovery activities, meetings, or curfew.
  • Respect the privacy of all residents. Do not photograph or record others without their consent.
  • Social media posts that identify the house location or other residents are strictly prohibited.

These rules are in place because we believe in your recovery. If you have questions or concerns about any guideline, please speak with a staff member. We are here to support you.
